What you should know
- PEER-2-PEER
Toolee is a peer-2-peer initiative among private persons aimed at making the right tools accessible to everyone, at a fair price and at walkable distance. - ACCEPTANCE OF TOOLEE’S RULES
You will be asked to confirm that you understand and accept the rules of toolee (as indicated in “What you should know”) either per e-mail or on Whatsapp/Signal before picking up the tools. - IDENTIFICATION
When you pick up the tools at one of toolee’s locations you will be asked to show an identification document with a photograph. The owner of the tools will check your identity and might ask to take a pic of your identification document. - PROOF OF RENTED ITEMS
Before initiating the payment of the rental fees and of the deposit, the owner of the tools will briefly explain how the tools function. Furthermore, a picture of the rented items will be taken in your presence and shared with you per e-mail. - DEPOSIT
Together with the rental fees, you will be asked to transfer a deposit. The amount of the deposit depends upon the specific tool. In case you are renting more than one tool, the total deposit that you will be asked to transfer is the sum of the deposit amounts of each rented tool. The deposit will be transferred back to you when you will return the rented tools provided the returned tools are functioning, not damaged, and in comparable conditions as they where when you picked them up. - YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE
For the entire duration of the rental you bear full responsibility for the rented tools and their utilisation. This includes, but is not limited to, malfunctioning, damages to the tools or other items, wrong doing, injuries. Furthermore, the general rule is “the one who breaks it (accidentally or not), pays it back” (the price to be paid is indicated in the tool description under “residual value”). - ALWAYS RETURN THE TOOLS
Rented tools must always and under any circumstances be returned to the owner. It is highly appreciated if the tools are returned in the same status they were when you picked them up.
